Lovasoa school in Antsirabe: providing the essentials today, building autonomy for tomorrow
Keeping the school open and operational
The Lovasoa school caters for children from extremely vulnerable families in Antsirabe, Madagascar. Without support, the school cannot function: no canteen, no regular salaries for teachers, no supplies. Without these basics, the school closes.
Project objectives
To ensure the continuity of education by guaranteeing the day-to-day running of the school (canteen, teachers' salaries, school supplies), while at the same time initiating a gradual transition to autonomy through concrete projects: a chicken coop, a school vegetable garden and improvements to infrastructure (lighting).
The main actions
The project finances the school canteen to combat malnutrition and maintain attendance, provides regular pay for teachers, supplies the necessary school equipment, sets up a henhouse to produce eggs for the canteen, develops a school vegetable garden to diversify the diet and teach self-sufficiency, and installs appropriate lighting solutions to improve teaching conditions.
Estimated budget
An annual budget will cover immediate essential needs (canteen, salaries, supplies) and fund self-sufficiency projects (henhouse, vegetable garden, lighting), ensuring the school's survival today and its viability tomorrow.
